Adam’s is a stylish Michelin-starred restaurant ran by the extremely talented Adam Stokes and his wife Natasha. The restaurant is located just a 12-minute walk from the hotel, on Waterloo Street. Adam’s provide visitors with a unique dining experience with their friendly and professional service, and accurate cooking of high-quality ingredients.

Adam’s was awarded a Travelers’ Choice award for the sixth consecutive year and October 2019 saw Adam’s rated Number 1 Restaurant in the UK, 6th in Europe and 10th in the world on TripAdvisor. Not bad?

2. Purnell’s

Purnell’s Restaurant is a beautiful fine-dining restaurant that exists within a red-bricked, protected Victorian building on Cornwall Street, just a 13-minute walk from the hotel. Purnell’s is run by the cheery Michelin starred chef Glynn Purnell, with his cooking style being mostly British with influence from the Far East and France. Glynn’s innovative cooking provides visitors with the ultimate gourmet experience.

Purnell’s offer lunch, a la carte, tapas and tasting menus. A pre-dinner cocktail or an after-dinner drink can also be enjoyed in the relaxing environment of the restaurants bar and lounge area.

3. Bonehead

Bonehead is a mouth-watering fried chicken restaurant located on Lower Severn Street. Bonehead is a small but bold restaurant serving 5 different burgers, including a Veghead Burger for vegans, various chicken strips, wings and tasty sides.

Situated just a 15-minute walk from the hotel, Bonehead is a popular restaurant amongst locals, with walk-ins only. Wait times, usually, aren’t too long while you can enjoy one of many excellent craft beers available in the bar area while you wait.

4. Laghi’s Deli

If it is authentic Italian food you are after, then look no further than Laghi’s Deli. The restaurant is situated on Islington Row Middleway, just an 8-minute drive from Clayton Hotel Birmingham. Laghi’s Deli is an award-winning restaurant, with owner Luca Laghi taking pride in serving dishes containing the best authentic ingredients from Italy.

Highlights of the menu include scrumptious stone baked pizzas and fresh, hand-made pastas such as the classic carbonara or delicious oven baked cannelloni.

5. The Oyster Club

The Oyster Club is a seafood restaurant located just a 10-minute walk from the hotel on Temple Street. This is the second entry on our list from the Michelin starred Adam Stokes. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with light grey and blue décor with a marble finish while the food is equally delicious.

There is plenty of small plates to sink your teeth into including the delicious whole roasted king prawns while you can enjoy a tasty fish pie with lobster for your main. Being a seafood restaurant, you can of course order oysters with 4 different types being available. If you feel like really treating yourself caviar is also on the menu.

6. Lasan

Lasan is amongst the finest Indian restaurants across Birmingham. This multi-award-winning restaurant is a 25-minute walk away from the hotel or a 10-minute drive if you prefer. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, while the décor is exotic with both modern and traditional pieces on display.

The dishes are made up of the finest ingredients, crafted authentically by the skilled chefs of Lasan. Lasan also has an excellent wine selection to accompany your meal or treat yourself to a pre-meal drink with one of their distinct cocktails.

7. Gaucho

Gaucho is a beautiful Argentinian steak house located just a 12-minute walk from the hotel. The restaurant offers guests a spectacular dining experience with flawless Argentinian steaks, fine wines and cocktails. You will be greeted with warm smiles from their expert staff, while the interior is stunningly decorated, taking inspiration from Argentinian forests.

Their A la Carte menu includes eight beef options from the grill served with their house-made chimichurri sauce. Combine your steak with one of the fine red wines from Gaucho’s extensive wine list.

 8. Land

Land is a stunning vegan restaurant located in the historic Great Western Arcade, only a 9-minute walk from Clayton Hotel Birmingham. All dishes are influenced by the land, with everything served being completely plant focused and taking influence from many different cultures.

Menus regularly change at Land as the restaurant uses seasonal ingredients meaning each dish contains the highest quality available at any given time. A 2-course set menu costs £20 while a three-course set menu is only £26. Alternatively, you can try the chef’s 5-course menu for £35.

9. Sushi Passion

Sushi Passion is the best place in Birmingham to get your fix of sushi. Located at Great Western Arcade, a 9-minute walk from the hotel, Sushi Passion serves unbelievable Japanese food at great prices.

Whether you are a regular sushi eater or its your first experience, Sushi Passion has something for everyone. The menu features both traditional and modern styles of sushi making. You can sit at the bar and watch the sushi being made or if you prefer, a more intimate setting at a zakatu table. You can also wash down your food with some traditional sake, an alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice.
